I originally studied a BA Hons in fashion design at Newcastle, where I became interested in the sculptural work of Japanese designer Issey Miyake. After winning several design awards I went on to work for Courtaulds as a designer, and later worked freelance before setting up my own design business . I also spent 14yrs teaching before deciding to pursue my love of three dimensional design through sculpture.
Working mostly in metal and wood or up-cycled materials, designs are created using a constructive approach. My work reflects a love of nature and natural forms. Also, my fascination with the consequences of time and the elements upon materials.
